Robert
Craig “Bob” Lynch, 88, lifelong Memphian, died May 23, 2011 in his
home with his family close to him. A graduate of Tech High School,
Mr. Lynch was the retired president of Motors Inc. and a member of
Kirby Woods Baptist Church. He was a World War II army veteran of
the South Pacific Theater where he served as the Platoon Staff
Sergeant of the First Calvary Division. He had marched his way
through the islands of the South Pacific to Tokyo Bay where he
witnessed the surrender of Japan and the end of the war. Mr. Lynch
was an avid boater and loved photography. Visitation will be
Friday, May 27 beginning at 10 a.m. with funeral services
beginning at 11 a.m. both at Kirby Woods Baptist Church. Burial
will follow with procession to Memphis Memory Gardens Cemetery
located at 6444 Raleigh-LaGrange Road. Mr. Lynch is survived by
his wife of 70 years, Ann Scott Lynch; children Jim and Jan Lynch
both of Memphis and John Lynch of Carrollton, Texas; sister
Frances Lynch Frazier of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren and
six great-grandchildren. Any memorials may be made to Kirby Woods
Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry, 6325 Poplar Avenue, Memphis,
