I am glad to find this web site. My years at Tech gave me a greater appreciation for people who dedicate their lives to teach and work in the educational profession. My wife is a teacher and has spent 25 yrs in the Memphis City Schools and I have retired from there myself though not as a teacher. Hope to hear from fellow Techites.

Today's Commercial Appeal carries an engagement photo of Daryl Braden and his future wife. It brings back memories of Tech's dynamic 1974 basketball team, where he was one of the "three Daryls," playing along with Cornelius, John, Milton, and the rest of a great squad. Terri and Marcia led a team of outstanding cheerleaders. Daryl is still employed at UAB, his alma mater. Best wishes, Daryl!

I was just sitting here on a hot August Sunday evening in Southern California browsing thru this wonderful website and thought I'd just say hello. Hope all is well with former classmates and friends. I just found the website and it is great. A lot of names I remember, but some I don't. Does anyone know where Bailey Wilkes is? I saw Steve King's name, glad you are doing so good. I am still in Memphis working at a hospital as an administrative secretary. Keep up the good work.

I came across the story of Mr. Terrell and wanted to add my sympathies. I was lucky for I knew Mr. Terrell prior to his coming to Tech. He was a teacher at Corry Jr. High in South Memphis which I attended prior to coming to Tech. I had the pleasure of being taught by him AND his lovely wife. Coach Terrell was tough but man was he fair. He never looked at you as black or white. He always looked at your potential to be a good student and graduate. He scared me to death but I was just a young kid trying to make it in a new environment. He was a fair man and I will not soon forget him. To Mr. Terrell's family I offer my condolences. To Mr. Terrell, you have my thanks,and most of all my respect. May you rest in peace.

I'm trying to locate Don McNamee (class of '71'). It's been decades and I would love to find out what happened to him. I used to be in contact with Ouida Robertson but lost her two. Where the heck are you guys? I miss you both. I saw Ira King on classmate and got in touch but never heard from him. I would love to hear from any Techie. It gets lonely up north.

First, I would like to thanks Gene Gill and Sue Johnson and all who make this web site possible. You guys have done an awesome job! It brings back so many wonderful memories. I often wonder what has happened to many of my classmates and friends. I didn't know it then but I do now, Tech was some of the best years of our lives. May I give thanks to teachers like Ms. Elliott and Coach Wright and others whom not only care about teaching a curriculum but also teaching us about life and responsibility. Gene and Sue once again thank you for this site where we can go and reminisce days gone by. Come on class of 1975 we want to hear from you!

This site brings back memories from the VIP English Teacher at Tech High School. I have many fond memories of the years spent here. When Tech closed, I remained with CPSEC, later Pyramid Academy, and taught English to pregnant and parenting teens. Currently, I am coordinator of the Parenting Program in the same location. So you see, I'm still at Tech! Love to all!
